Kitchen Designs for the San Francisco Bay Area

Noe Valley Remodel
The challenge here was that structurally we could not expand the area of this kitchen as the lot had no more space for us to utilize. Galley kitchens are actually very efficient to use when properly planned so given our limited square footage we embraced the linear space to make many needed improvements. One of the greatest improvements anyone can make is to bring in more natural light. As seen here we installed a new skylight between the range and sink to brighten the space. The 'pantry' wall was removed to also allow light from the back windows into the kitchen and give the illusion of greater amount of space.

The existing area for the range did not have a proper ventilation system. The 'hood' (a mere hole in wall) was replaced with an actual overhead vent system and the refrigerator moved to a different location to provide working space on both sides of the range. Re-locating the refrigerator also provided space for much needed storage in the form of new cabinetry above the counters. The removal of the end wall provided storage for a real pantry and built-in wall oven with microwave. (See the before & after page.)

Light is especially necessary in a working kitchen. The existing windows were ineffective and were replaced with a larger window unit. Previous to the remodel the owners did not have a dishwasher or garbage disposal; all new appliances and plumbing fixtures were installed.

Oakland Hills Remodel
The new ceiling mounted overhead cabinetry provides a greater amount of storage and both above & below cabinets open on both sides of the new peninsula.
With the re-location of a few key appliances along with better quality storage the kitchen now functions with greater efficiency and is inviting to all who visit.

Oakland Hills Remodel
Previous to the remodel there was no view into the dining room from the kitchen. This family likes to entertain and felt that the kitchen was too closed off from the adjacent areas.

A cook top with hood was installed along this wall and the 'pantry' cabinet replaced to provide more working surface. The small sink was replaced with a 12 inch deep under-mount for washing larger items.

SF Castro Remodel
The kitchen was outdated and lacking in current day amenities. All new cabinetry was designed and constructed and all appliances were replaced. The floor is a stained bamboo which replaces the previous vinyl covering. Granite counter tops were manufactured and a new lighting system was installed.

Separate and 'different' sized sinks were installed. They are centered on the opening which provides natural light all day where previously there was no light.

Marin Remodel
This kitchen had more than enough square footage to function properly. The extra space was employed as a home office area.
